Web Development Apprenticeships For Underrepresented Adults
The Difference Engine’s mission is to empower adults from underrepresented and nontraditional backgrounds through real-world technology experiences in order to develop their professional skills. Through its seventeen-week web apprenticeship program, entry-level web developers work collaboratively within a team environment and under the supervision and mentorship of experienced tech professionals. They create web applications and websites – at no cost – for nonprofit and mission-based organizations to help further their missions through technology. At the end of the program, the web developers have built a tech product for their client and are ready to enter the workforce with applicable professional experience. Since its founding, The Difference Engine has trained more than 190 web developers and completed more than 13 web applications and websites.
