Digital Media Training And Employment For Formerly Incarcerated People
Second Chance Studios is a nonprofit digital media company that trains, mentors, and employs people who were formerly incarcerated into one of the fastest-growing industries in the digital era — new media (audio and video production, social media, and podcasting). Our Digital Media Fellowship pairs the unmet need of financially and physically sustainable employment opportunities for returning citizens with the industry growth and employment opportunities in the digital media space. We make an impact through our full-time, paid, six-month Fellowship program, which is a career development program consisting of three components: experiential learning, curated mentorship, and job placement. Digital media employment opportunities are forecasted to grow up to three times the average of all occupations in the next decade. Our goal is to become the preeminent digital media training ground for formerly incarcerated individuals, as well as a transformative model for decreasing recidivism specifically through high-growth industries.
