Providing Grants To Detroit-Based Youth Nonprofits
The Born And Raised Detroit Foundation (BARD) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has granted over $500,000 to Detroit-based youth charities. BARD supports nonprofits and initiatives that help build a stronger community and positive way of life for the youth of Detroit. BARD believes that inspired, educated, and creative young people are the key to our city’s progression. Founded by a group of friends who were forced to move away from Michigan due to a struggling economy more than a decade ago, BARD is their way to honor and give back to their hometown. Operating with no administrative costs, BARD has provided grants to Alternatives For Girls, Racquet Up Detroit, Horizons-Upward Bound, Ruth Ellis Center, and many others.
