Brilliant Detroit creates success for kids and families by building neighborhood hubs that provide a safe space for coordinated programs that address education, health, family support, and community building. By transforming abandoned houses into these neighborhood hubs designed with, for, and by neighbors, Brilliant Detroit serves kids (ages 0-8) and their families within a twenty-minute walkable area. Each hub has unique offerings tailored to its community, such as tutoring sessions, exercise and nutrition classes, financial literacy programs, parent leadership and support groups, community gardens, etc. Founded to provide a radically new approach to kindergarten readiness in high-need neighborhoods, Brilliant Detroit is dedicated to ensuring that a zip code does not predict a child’s future.
