Engaging And Empowering Individuals To Build Community Through Free Construction Training
The mission of Building Beyond The Walls is to increase confidence, self-reliance, and community through free, hands-on construction skills training. By bringing strangers together for the common purpose of learning new skills and building a small structure to fill a community need, we connect individuals more deeply in their communities. In exchange for the free training, which is led by industry professionals, our program participants agree to provide fifty hours of volunteer service to the community. Since Building Beyond The Walls was founded, twenty-five thousand hours of volunteer service have been completed at a value of more than $110,000.
