Free Programming To Promote Science And Technology For Everyone In Chicago And Beyond
The mission of Chicago Council on Science and Technology (“C2ST”) is to inspire and engage all segments of society about science and technology and their contributions to the world. The nonprofit brings together the collective insight and resources of Chicago’s scientific, philanthropic, and corporate leaders, including representatives from academia, business, government, museums, and national laboratories. C2ST’s comprehensive and varied programming includes large TED talk-style presentations, booths at community events and street corners, “Speakeasies” hosted at local bars and restaurants, “Science in the Parks” activities, “Inclusiveness in STEM” series, “STEAM in the Community” gatherings, tours at world-renowned institutions, and multi-week programs done in collaboration with other nonprofits and organizations. In the last two decades, the nonprofit has held more than 370 programs with 250 partner organizations featuring over 800 experts for audiences of all ages. Furthermore, through its YouTube channel (C2ST TV), newsletter, social media, and online presence, anyone with an internet connection can access relevant and reliable information, anywhere on the planet. The nonprofit’s vision is to be the premier and trusted source in the Chicago area and beyond for science-and-technology public outreach.
