Christ Child Society Of Detroit
Serving Disadvantaged Youth In Detroit Through Infant Support, Literacy Programs, And Residential Care
Christ Child Society Of Detroit serves children-in-need throughout metropolitan Detroit. Our Layette Program provides small bundles of baby clothes and supplies to mothers-in-need. Our Literacy Program’s volunteer readers instill an excitement about books and reading in young children at school. Our Christ Child House is an intensive residential center where a team of clinical therapists, youth specialists, education counselors, recreation staff, and medical liaisons create a highly structured treatment plan for each child to build a healthy life. While Christ Child’s earliest mission was to distribute layettes, its programs expanded over time to meet the educational, emotional, spiritual, and material needs of poor and disadvantaged children in our area.
