Helping Communities Respond To Hunger, Poverty, Displacement, And Disaster
Church World Service (CWS) is a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement, and disaster. Our vision is that everyone has food, voice, and a safe place to call home. We work in partnership with communities to fight hunger and poverty by providing expert guidance, supplies, and funding for farmers to improve their harvests, communities to connect to clean water, and people to learn about topics like sanitation, nutrition, and hygiene. We also help those facing conflict or persecution to build lives free from fear by guiding refugees and migrants through the resettlement process in the United States. Further, we help people to prepare for the worst by showing communities how to create emergency preparedness plans, providing informational sessions about emergency readiness, and assisting responders to rebuild and replant when an emergency happens.
