Common Threads is a national nonprofit that provides children and families with cooking and nutrition education to encourage healthy habits that contribute to wellness. Through our in- and after-school programs, virtual cooking demos, and parent workshops, we equip under-resourced communities with information to make affordable, nutritious, and appealing food choices wherever they live, work, learn, and play. We know that food is rooted in culture and tradition, so we promote diversity in our lessons and recipes to encourage our participants to celebrate the world around them. Founded by a chef and artist who saw the healing power of food when they cooked for families after 9/11 in New York City, Common Threads now reaches more than 60,000 children, parents, and educators across the country.
