Providing Free, Essential Health Education To Remote And Underserved Communities In West Africa
At Elijeko Foundation, our mission is to bring preventative health education directly to remote and underserved communities in West Africa. We believe knowledge is the key to building healthier communities and are dedicated to transforming lives in four key areas. First, our Bystander CPR Initiative provides critical pre-hospital emergency care techniques, like CPR, to healthcare professionals and others. Second, our Patient Safety Awareness Program increases safety knowledge through engaging workshops and targeted training activities for healthcare facilities and their staff. Third, our Stop The Bleed Program empowers bystanders by teaching them how to help in bleeding emergencies before medical professionals arrive on the scene. Lastly, our Kiosk Clinic Initiative offers free, accessible, and frequent medical screenings. To date, we have served more than 10,000 patients, trained more than 15,000 people, and visited over 200 communities. Our Maryland-based chapter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to providing ongoing financial support to our organization headquartered in Ghana.
