Focus: HOPE
Empowerment And Advocacy Programs To Overcome Racism, Poverty, And Injustice
Recognizing the dignity and beauty of every person, we pledge intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty, and injustice. And to build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust and affection. Focus: HOPE provides programs for early learning, youth development, job training, young mother peer support, and senior citizen food security and assistance. Focus: HOPE also advocates for systemic change by raising community awareness about key issues, supporting local leadership, hosting public forums, among many other activities. Founded by Father William Cunningham and Eleanor Josaitis after the 1967 civil unrest in Detroit, Focus: HOPE is committed to build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust, and affection.
