Genesys Works
Skills Training, Paid Internships, College Counseling, And Alumni Support For Underserved High School Students
The mission of Genesys Works is to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships. The students start with eight weeks of summer training in business, including information technology, business operations, and professional development. This is followed by a year-long internship at a partner company site, putting the students’ training into practice and further refining skills while providing valuable services to the company. In addition, we provide career and college coaching, which consists of more than sixty hours of guidance, counseling, and planning toward future career paths, including college selection and applications, certification training and placement, and financial aid assistance. Finally, as experts with relatable experiences, our dedicated alumni offer community mentoring and support to help the students navigate uncharted territory. The high schoolers finish our program with increased confidence, in-demand job skills, and elevated career aspirations. Based in Houston, Texas, Genesys Works has chapters in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco Bay Area, and Minneapolis/St. Paul.
