Green Star Movement
Inspiring Students And Transforming Communities Through The Creation Of Public Art
Green Star Movement inspires students and community members through the creation of public art. This interactive process builds teamwork and self-esteem in participants and revitalizes urban neighborhoods. We annually serve over 2,000 students and adults with mural arts programming and have successfully transformed the interiors and exteriors of over 160 public spaces, including schools, parks, community centers, and underpasses. A former arts instructor, Kamelia Hristeva founded Green Star Movement when she recognized that not only were students in underserved areas eager for meaningful opportunities to be creative, but the surrounding school buildings and neighborhoods were often uninspiring, unattractive, and neglected.
