Financial And Emotional Support For Heart Surgery Patients And Caregivers
Harboring Hearts is predicated on the belief that anyone should have access to quality medical care regardless of their financial situation. We provide emergency housing, food, transportation, and emotional support to adult and pediatric heart surgery patients and caregivers in the New York City metro area. We work in close collaboration with our eight partner hospitals to offer the following programs: Emergency Fund, Community Events, Caregiver Food Delivery, and Hope 4 Hearts Days (fun outings for recovered patients). Founders Michelle Javian and Yuki Kotani met in the hospital while their fathers were battling heart disease. After seeing firsthand the lack of refuge and community support for heart patients and their families, they founded Harboring Hearts.
