Enriching Kids’ Lives Through Character Education And Community Engagement
At Inside Out Club DuPage (IOCD), our mission is to develop kids with character inside and out. We empower kids ages 3-12 to live life with good character on the “inside” – being brave enough to ask questions, showing grit and resilience, allowing others to belong unconditionally, embracing their authentic selves, choosing kindness, etc. – and on the “outside” – caring for themselves, others, animals, and the planet. Our curriculum combines social and emotional learning (SEL) with nonprofit volunteerism and community engagement. Founded by Marion Ruthig as a way to educate community members about local charities, our IOCD programs are now offered at schools, on weekends, online, and through local nonprofit partnerships to thousands of children every year.
