Keeping Families Covered
Providing Free Diapers And Other Necessities To Families In Need
Keeping Families Covered provides diapers and other basic needs to families. They also raise awareness about diaper need and period poverty while working to build sustainable programs in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, their two diaper banks (Lake County and McHenry County) and mobile diaper pantry give away over 1,000,000 diapers every year. They also provide other essentials like baby wipes, infant formula, period products, maternity wear, children's clothing/shoes (newborn to youth size 12), and children’s books. As a member of the Alliance for Period Supplies, they give away over 150,000 period products every year. Keeping Families Covered currently supports more than 2,000 children and families every month. Founder Ann Marie Mathis, a mother of seven, started the organization to ensure that individuals and families have the basics they need to thrive.
