Providing Free Diapers And Other Childcare Necessities To Families In Need

Keeping Families Covered (formerly known as Twice As Nice Mother & Child) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides diapers and other basic needs to families. They also raise awareness about diaper need and period poverty while working to build sustainable programs in Lake County, Illinois. As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, their on-site diaper bank and mobile diaper pantry distributes over 500,000 diapers every year. In addition, they provide other essentials like baby wipes, infant formula, gently used maternity wear and children's clothing/shoes (newborn to size 12), baby care equipment, and children’s books. As a member of the Alliance for Period Supplies, they also distribute period products. Keeping Families Covered currently supports over 1,800 children every month and has donated over two million diapers to the most vulnerable residents in their community. Founder Ann Marie Mathis, a mother of seven, started the organization to make a difference and to help families that are struggling to meet their basic needs.
