Keeping Families Covered
Providing Free Diapers And Other Necessities To Families In Need
Keeping Families Covered (formerly known as Twice As Nice Mother & Child) provides diapers and other basic needs to families. They also raise awareness about diaper need and period poverty while working to build sustainable programs in Lake County, Illinois. As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, their on-site diaper bank and mobile diaper pantry gives away over 1,000,000 diapers every year. In addition, they provide other essentials like baby wipes, infant formula, gently used maternity wear and children's clothing/shoes (newborn to youth size 12), baby care equipment, and children’s books. As a member of the Alliance for Period Supplies, they give away over 150,000 period products every year to menstruators in the community. Keeping Families Covered currently supports more than 1,800 children and 1,200 families every month. Founder Ann Marie Mathis, a mother of seven, started the organization to make a difference and ensure that families have the basics they need to thrive.
