Providing Comfort, Care, And Connection To Families With Hospitalized Children
The mission of Mattea’s Joy is to bring comfort, care, and connection to families with hospitalized children and to remind them that they are not alone. We provide snack boxes, monthly meals, hospital visits, podcasts, support groups, transportation gift cards, holiday treats, and care packages. Mattea Joy Freedlund was born with severe medical complications and passed away at nine and a half months old, after spending much of her life in the hospital. Having come to understand what it means to care for a critically ill child and the resulting challenges, her parents founded Mattea’s Joy to help illuminate the path for families facing similar circumstances.
