Enhancing The Lives Of Individuals Living With Dementia And Empowering Their Caregivers
The Memory Connection is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with cognitive decline, Alzheimer's, and other forms of dementia, as well as their caregivers, with a special focus on communities with limited access to quality care and resources. This includes not only economically challenged individuals but also the "sandwich generation" — those who bear the dual responsibility of raising younger children while caring for aging parents. To make a meaningful impact, we provide affordable or donated dementia-friendly resources, such as puzzles, activity boxes, sensory items, and engagement tools specifically designed to stimulate cognitive abilities and create moments of joy and connection. We also offer respite care to give caregivers the opportunity to recharge and continue their vital caregiving roles. These caregiver-focused activities include workshops, virtual support groups, and adult enrichment programs. Lastly, we collaborate with community organizations to effectively reach underserved populations by providing activity kits, engagement tools, and educational resources to families and caregivers. Founded by two women who personally navigated the challenges of caring for their mothers with dementia, The Memory Connection seeks to build a community grounded in hope, dignity, and connection.
