Mercy Education Project

Empowering Women And Girls In Detroit Through Education

Established in 1992, Mercy Education Project (MEP) is dedicated to serving low-income women and girls in Detroit. MEP’s mission is to help disenfranchised individuals achieve their educational and career goals. The Women’s program provides adult basic education courses, GED preparation, and college-and-career readiness training. The Girl’s program offers one-on-one academic tutoring, college-and-career readiness workshops, ACT/SAT test preparation, college campus tours, and STEAM enrichment activities. All of MEP’s services are free to the 250+ students we serve each year. MEP knows that educated women uplift communities and disrupt devastating cycles of poverty. By helping these inspirational women and girls achieve their goals, MEP is investing in Detroit’s bright future and our nation at-large.
