Mikva Challenge
Action Civics Curriculum And Real-Life Democratic Experiences That Develop Youth To Be Active Citizens
Mikva Challenge is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that develops youth to be empowered, informed, and active citizens who will promote a just and equitable society. From classroom civics projects to public speaking competitions to youth-led advocacy work, we believe that inviting young people to take part in real-life democratic activities helps prepare them to be engaged citizens and leaders. Founded as a tribute to Judge Abner Mikva and his wife Zoe, who were both lifelong political and educational activists, Mikva Challenge reaches more than fifty thousand students every year across the country. Our vision is for a strong, inclusive democracy that values youth voice.
