Miles Of Freedom
Helping Formerly Incarcerated Individuals Transition From Prison To A Productive Life In Their Family And Community
Miles of Freedom provides services to help those impacted by incarceration successfully transition to a productive life in the community with new positive directions for their lives. Our Reentry Assistance Program provides a plethora of resources, from financial literacy, resume building, clothing, life skills, and more. We also assist with job/housing referral placement, which is all coordinated through our case managers. Our Lawn and Landscaping Service provides an opportunity for members to work and get paid while going through the case management process. Lastly, our MLK Fresh Produce Distribution Center serves as a food pantry for residents of Dallas who are experiencing food insecurity. The pantry offers fresh fruits, canned goods, and vegetables. Miles of Freedom was founded by Richard Miles, who spent fifteen years in Texas prisons as a result of being wrongfully convicted of murder and assault. The nonprofit seeks to help others reach their promise and protect them against recidivism.
