Debate Education For College And Career Readiness
The mission of the National Association For Urban Debate Leagues (NAUDL) is to advance debate education in urban public schools in order to amplify youth voices, increase college and career readiness, and develop students’ confidence and skills for career success. NAUDL provides debate programming, curriculum, practices, and resources to 22 debate leagues (cities) across the country — reaching 11,000 middle and high school students each year. Seventy-two percent of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and 84 percent of students identify as students of color. Through their debate preparation and competitions, students learn critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. They also discover a passion for learning and civic engagement, along with a lifelong network and community.
