Empowering Detroit Youth Through A Mentorship Program Of Academics, Community Service, And The Sport Of Squash
Racquet Up Detroit supports and empowers Detroit youth so they can achieve their full potential through a long-term, demanding, and inspiring mentoring program of squash, academics, and community service. Students join in the fifth grade, and over many years in the program, they are provided with significant academic support, world-class coaching in the sport of squash, and a wide range of cultural exposure activities and character-building service projects. Having begun with 40 students in 2010, Racquet Up Detroit now works with 140 young people annually and has provided nearly $2 million in college scholarships and financial aid.
