The Sanitation Foundation is the official nonprofit of New York City’s Department of Sanitation (DSNY). Leveraging non-traditional strategies to promote sustainability and advance the essential services of DSNY employees, we bring together innovators and the community to create a cleaner, healthier, more sustainable New York City. Our Zero Waste Workshops educate people about low-waste lifestyles to reduce their impact on the planet. Our DSNY Art Show features artwork created by DSNY employees to humanize and celebrate their talents. Our ReFashion Week showcases secondhand and sustainable fashion to challenge people’s view on style. Our Food Waste Fair connects New Yorkers with the resources and knowledge they need to lower their food waste.
