Distributing Shoes To Those In Need Around The World
Share Your Soles Foundation provides gently worn or new shoes to those in need around the world. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization collects shoes at shoe drives, special events, and drop-site locations. Since Share Your Soles was founded, three million pairs of shoes have been delivered to impoverished families in more than 40 locations, countless countries, five continents, and 13 states in the United States. The nonprofit focuses on shoes because shoes are people’s means of transportation, as well as protection against disease, infection and injury. After seeing many children without shoes on a visit to a remote village in Guatemala, Mona Purdy returned home to the United States and began collecting shoes to bring back to the children; Share Your Soles was born.
