Youth Development Through The Power Of Sports And Play
Urban Initiatives' (UI) mission is to use sports and play to empower Chicago's youth to achieve academic success, develop social-emotional skills, and build social capital through our network of students, faculty, and community members. From kindergarten through high school and beyond, we engage youth through sports and play to teach teamwork, peer mentorship, and personal development. Founded by two Chicago Public Schools teachers who were also suburban soccer coaches, UI seeks to expand young people’s view of their world and ability to impact their community.
