Providing Brand-New Stuffed Animals To Comfort Children In Turmoil
Zac’s Zoo comforts children in turmoil by providing them with brand-new stuffed animals. Zac’s Zoo collects the animals and delivers them to local fire and police departments. The first responders then give the comforting animals to a child in crisis, such as in an ambulance or in a violent domestic situation. Zac’s Zoo was formed when 7-year-old Zac Cohen organized a stuffed-animal drive to comfort the many children who were victims of Hurricane Katrina. Sadly, at the age of 20, Zac was killed in a motorcycle accident. In tribute to Zac’s efforts throughout his life to serve others, his mother officially founded Zac’s Zoo to help restore a sense of calmness, security, and comfort to children facing adversity.
