Ohio-based WORTH THE WAIT eases the burden for young adult cancer survivors pursuing parenthood by providing financial support for fertility treatments, adoption, and surrogacy. Grants are based on financial need and awarded on a rolling basis. THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH featured the nonprofit this summer. Illinois-based CHICAGO COMMONS provides high-quality early childhood education, family-centered adult education, and senior care services to thousands of individuals annually. For over 125 years, the nonprofit’s programs have helped to move under-resourced individuals and families toward educational success, economic security, and good health and well-being. Last month, THE SOUTH SIDE WEEKLY did a story on the nonprofit’s arts programming for seniors and adults with disabilities.

 

Illinois-based LITTLE CITY FOUNDATION serves children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing options and opportunities to live safely, learn continuously, explore creatively, and work productively throughout their lifetime. The nonprofit’s services include: employment training, foster care and adoption, fitness and recreation, therapeutic day school, center for the arts, residential programs, horticultural activities, primary health care, and more. WGN-TV recently spotlighted Little City’s aquatic programs.
