CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partner Twist Out Cancer on WGN TV

CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partner Twist Out Cancer is celebrating 10 years! Founder and CEO Jenna Benn Shersher joined Dina Bair on WGN Midday News to discuss their mission to provide psychosocial support for individuals touched by cancer through creative arts programming.

Their signature program, Brushes with Cancer, is a unique celebration of survivorship and hope that pairs those touched by cancer with talented artists to create an original work reflective of the cancer journey.

 

New York Sun Works joined NBC News 4 to discuss their mission to bring hydroponic farming technology into New York City public schools to teach science and sustainability education from kindergarten to 12th grade.

Through their hydroponic science labs, students learn about food production and nutrition, water resource management, pollution, biodiversity, sustainable development, among many other topics.

 

CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partner TechTown in Detroit Free Press

Detroit's entrepreneurship hub TechTown Detroit made headlines recently in Detroit Free Press for receiving funding from the US Economic Development Administration.

TechTown will receive $400,000 to provide training for 200 angel investors. The nonprofit, which is an accelerator and incubator for businesses and startups, will focus on recruiting and teaching women and people of color how to become investors.
