Rhode Island-based FRIENDS WAY serves families throughout Southeastern New England following the death of a significant person in their lives. Staffed with highly qualified mental health care professionals and extensively trained community volunteers, Friends Way provides free peer support to children and their families in a safe and nurturing environment. Illinois-based NORTH LAWNDALE EMPLOYMENT NETWORK assists people who face significant barriers to employment, including returning citizens and people with felony records, to increase their earnings potential through innovative employment initiatives that lead to economic advancement and an improved quality of life. Michigan-based DETROIT PHOENIX CENTER provides critical resources, support services, and a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment for teens and young adults who are experiencing homelessness or transitioning out of homelessness. The nonprofit’s services include: a daily drop-in center, after-school enrichment programs, youth action board, emergency crisis housing, and scholarship fund. Detroit Phoenix Center seeks to create a world where every young person has a place to call home and the resources needed to actualize their full potential and live out their dreams.
