Nonprofit Partners in the Press: Common Threads, At Bat, Breakthrough Urban Ministries

Common Threads instructor Mariano Mercado demonstrates to Local 10 in South Florida some fun ways for kids to get moving and stay healthy (fast forward to 14:37).  In addition to fitness tips, Common Threads  provides children and families with cooking and nutrition education to encourage healthy habits that contribute to wellness.  We love seeing Mariano's Common Threads CLOZTALK t-shirt. What an advantageous opportunity to optimize brand recognition to a TV audience!

Detroit-based At Bat’s softball and baseball programs, in partnership with local communities and schools, introduce at-risk youth to a sport they may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn how to play. Founder Delrisha Hayes appeared on CW50 to discuss the summer clinics, which also incorporate STEM learning into baseball fundamentals. Since 2015, At Bat has served more than 200 kids across the Detroit area.

Marcie Curry, Chief Program Officer of Breakthrough Urban Ministries, talks to Fox 32 Chicago about how her local nonprofit is providing essentials for college students and families in need.  Breakthrough's mission is to partner with people affected by poverty to build connections, develop skills, and open doors of opportunity.
