CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partners Are In The News For Cancer And Autism! Ellie Fund, Colorectal Cancer Alliance, And Aspiritech

Massachusetts-based ELLIE FUND provides essential support services to breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery, and healing. The nonprofit’s assistance with groceries, healthy delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping, and integrative therapy services, free of charge, helps to relieve burdens on patients and families while in treatment. Executive Director Meredith Mendelson sat down with WCVB-TV to discuss the importance of equitable access to cancer treatment.

Washington, D.C.-based COLORECTAL CANCER ALLIANCE provides support for colorectal cancer patients, families, caregivers, and survivors; raises awareness about the importance of screening and preventive measures; and funds critical scientific research. The organization offers everything from emotional support to patient navigation to financial aid. NBC NEWS featured a survey by the nonprofit about the rising rates of colorectal cancer in young adults and the challenges in diagnosis.

Illinois-based ASPIRITECH provides meaningful employment and social opportunity for autistic adults in testing and quality assurance (QA). Many autistic adults possess unique talents, such as excellent focus, attention to detail, superior ability to spot irregularities, superlative technical skills, lack of boredom with highly repetitive tasks, and an intense desire to do work that is commensurate with their skills. The nonprofit’s team offers services in manual and automated testing, software and hardware testing, and data integrity and migration. CEO Tara Mary recently discussed the social-enterprise nonprofit with WGN-TV.
