For more than a century, Jewish Community Centers of Chicago (JCC CHICAGO) has served hundreds of thousands of people through recreational programming, educational sessions, essential services, community celebrations, and more. JCC Chicago is a community center where everyone is welcome. Recently, JCC Chicago and other partners hosted Violins of Hope, which is a collection of string instruments that were played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust. The mission of EMPOWERHER is to empower, support, and connect girls of all ages who have experienced the early loss of their mothers. The mentor program instills hope and confidence, provides a shared community of sisterhood, and reduces feelings of isolation for the girls as they deal with their grief. Several mentors and mentees visited FOX 31 DENVER to talk about empowerHER and its impact.
