From The Midwest To The East Coast, CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partners Are In The News

Michigan-based DETROIT PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION (DPSF) is dedicated to bringing resources to students in the Detroit Public Schools Community District. The nonprofit’s funding provides Detroit students with new technology, scholarships, state-of-the-art resources, opportunities for career development and education, and access to field trips and other programs offered by dozens of cultural arts organizations. CBS-TV NEWS DETROIT recently featured DPSF for its installation of washers and dryers in schools across the district to combat absenteeism.

 

Illinois-based RECOVERY ON WATER (ROW) is a rowing team that gives patients and survivors of breast cancer the unique opportunity to interact, become active in their recovery, and gain support from fellow survivors. ROW offers year-round rowing programs on the Chicago River or on indoor rowing machines. WGN-TV sat down with the nonprofit’s executive director to discuss the program and its many positive impacts.

 

Massachusetts-based ELLIE FUND provides essential support services to breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery, and healing. The nonprofit’s assistance with groceries, healthy delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping, and integrative therapy services, free of charge, helps to relieve burdens on patients and families while in treatment. During Breast Canceer Awareness Month, Massachusetts state legislators held an event to highlight Ellie Fund. WWLP-TV has the story.
