CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partners are making headlines across the country! Chicago Tool Library brings innovation to home improvement projects by making tools accessible for everyone, regardless of income. DreamCatchers empowers teens to help improve the lives of their elderly neighbors, and Blessings In A Backpack provides resources to ensure no child goes hungry.
With people spending more time at home since the start of the pandemic, we’ve seen a huge spike in home improvement projects. But even prior to the last two years, purchasing tools for a one-time DIY project was expensive. Our Nonprofit Partner Chicago Tool Library was recently featured by WBEZ Chicago and in The Washington Post for creating the perfect, budget-minded solution: borrowing. We love seeing the CLOZTALK t-shirts in both stories!
Making spirits bright! Hospice DreamCatchers Foundation (“DreamCatchers”) is dedicated to fulfilling the end-of-life dreams of hospice and palliative care patients in their communities. Their network of high school and college student chapters works with local hospices to provide a memorable experience or event to celebrate the hospice patient and his/her life. In this recent KVOA-TV holiday story in Arizona, Nancy had not been able to decorate for the holidays in two years because of health issues, so the DreamCatchers Student Chapter at University High School made certain that she had the Christmas she deserved!
The holiday season is a prime time for food drives, but food insecurity impacts children and families all year long. CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partner Blessings In A Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry. In Maryland, WDVM-TV recently covered the nonprofit's efforts to put together food reserves in preparation for the harsh winter weather.
