Raising Funds To Cover Medical Costs for Injured Veterans After War

Raising Funds To Cover Medical Costs for Injured Veterans After War

Many injured veterans return from battle only to face grueling physical and mental challenges and enormous financial burdens. The Battle Continues is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps veterans and their families fight the battle that continues after war by providing funds for medical treatments. The nonprofit was founded by Dr. Sudip Bose, a physician who served 12 years in the United States Army and received the Bronze Star Medal. A nationally recognized speaker, Dr. Bose uses his speaker fees to cover all of the administrative costs of operating The Battle Continues, so that 100% of each donation goes directly to the injured veterans.

Coding Bootcamp For Veterans And Military Spouses

Code Platoon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to transform veterans and military spouses into professional software developers through an immersive, educational bootcamp, mentorship, and internship program. In the 14-week program, we employ hands-on, in-person training with each group of students to teach software design principles, modern software languages, and best practices. We optimize our students’ success by matching them with an industry mentor, who serves as a support system and connects them with a professional network of software developers. Training with Code Platoon frequently culminates in a paid internship with one of our corporate sponsors, and most of our graduates are hired into permanent roles within six months of graduation. Highly sought after by employers, our graduates report a median salary of $68,000 within six months of graduation and $100,000 within two years of graduation.

The Invictus Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of veterans and first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and depression. We have assembled a team of clinicians who share our passion for creating positive change for mental health. A patient undergoes a diagnostic brain scan and blood work before being assigned a personalized treatment protocol designed to address the underlying causes of their symptoms. Our goal is offer effective mental healthcare in order to empower veterans and first responders to live more fulfilled lives and to decrease the number of suicides. The Invictus Project was founded by two army veterans who – after returning home from multiple deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq – found themselves struggling with everyday life and contemplating suicide; they created this organization to give others in the same situation a fighting chance at a higher quality of life.

Guide Dogs For The Blind In Israel

Guide Dogs For The Blind In Israel

The mission of the Israel Guide Dog Center For The Blind is to improve the quality of life of visually impaired Israelis by providing them with independence, mobility, self-confidence, and companionship through the use of guide dogs. We breed, raise, and train the guide dogs at our facility just south of Tel Aviv in Israel. When blind Israelis request our assistance, we transport them to our center, house and feed them for three weeks during training, and provide an additional week of training in their homes. In addition, we provide trained PTSD Service Dogs to soldiers who have suffered severe trauma, and we provide Emotional Support Dogs to blind children, autistic children, or other adults with a variety of special needs. This is all done at no cost to the blind person.
