CLOZTALK Nonprofit Partners Are Making Headlines From Los Angeles To New York And In Between!

California-based KESEM provides peer support through free summer camp and year-round programs for children whose parents have cancer. Kesem’s creative and fun-filled programs provide children with peers who understand their unique needs and create a lasting community. Kesem is a nationwide community led by college student leaders at over 130 college chapters in nearly every state across the country. New York-based TEVALAND FARM is an animal sanctuary for abused, neglected, and abandoned farm animals. The farm offers a variety of educational programs that encourage participants to both heal and be nurtured as they take an active part in the rehabilitation of rescued animals. By helping TevaLand’s animals achieve calm and balance, people discover their own capacity for love, kindness, compassion, and inner-peace. Illinois-based NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS (NAMI) CHICAGO provides hope and improves the quality of life for those whose lives are affected by mental health conditions. The nonprofit offers programs that strengthen the mental health community in Chicago, including mental health training and education, a free Helpline for those who need support in finding the right mental health resources, and peer-support services for individuals living with mental illness and their families. CBS-TV 2 News Chicago recently featured NAMI Chicago as it teams up with local Boys and Girls Clubs to bring counseling and other resources directly to kids who need help.
