Colorado-based AMERICAN TRANSPLANT FOUNDATION helps save lives by reducing the growing list of women, men, and children who are waiting for a transplant. They provide a three-tiered approach with educational, emotional, and financial support for living donors, transplant patients, and their families across the country. NBC 9NEWS recently sat down with an organ donor and the nonprofit’s executive director.

The PROMISE FUND OF FLORIDA seeks to eliminate barriers to quality healthcare for women and prevent unnecessary progression of breast and cervical cancer in South Florida. They connect women – including those who are uninsured and underinsured – with patient navigators who lead patients through their continuum of care, which includes breast and cervical screenings, education, diagnostics, treatment, and preventative care. Founder Nancy Brinker talked to SOUTH FLORIDA PBS about the organization’s mission and its impact in the community.

As the official nonprofit of New York City’s Department of Sanitation, the SANITATION FOUNDATION aims to create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable city. From zero waste educational workshops to food waste fairs to sustainable fashion events and art shows, the nonprofit brings together innovators, sanitation department employees, and the community. Last month, WPIX-TV featured the nonprofit and volunteers as they collected trash on the streets of the Big Apple.
