Redemptive hope. That's what Michigan-based The Pink Fund offers to women by providing financial support to breast cancer patients in active treatment as a way to help them meet basic needs, decrease stress levels, and focus on healing. The 90-day grant program makes payments to patients' creditors for housing, transportation, insurance, and utilities. The organization was recently featured on WXYZ-TV Channel 7.
Share Detroit has a mission to create a stronger Detroit by amplifying the voices and needs of local nonprofits, regardless of size, cause, or budget. A one-stop shop, the Share Detroit website shows skill-based nonprofit volunteer opportunities, an easy link to donate money, and an online marketplace of nonprofit wish lists where people can buy the exact items that nonprofits need to run their programs. By becoming involved with meaningful nonprofits, local individuals and businesses can come together and strengthen the community. Share Detroit’s web-based platform is a free resource for local nonprofits. Check out the TV coverage on WDIV Local 4.
